Almond Engineering offers Design, Precision Engineering and Fabrication services to customers requiring high levels of service and technical excellence. Almond was formed in 1979 and over the years has evolved to meet the changing needs of our customers, today we serve over 150 customers across a variety of sectors including: Medical Devices, Aerospace, Semiconductor, Food and Drink, Packaging and Rotational Moulding.
We strive to add value to all of our customers by offering technical expertise in design and manufacturing as well as providing a fast and flexible service. Our vision is to be recognised as offering the best service in Scottish Precision Engineering.

March 2012 – EDT G4Set Schools
Engineering Challenge
On the 22nd March Chris Smith participated as an assessor at the EDT G4Set Schools Engineering Challenge. This is an event targeted at getting 12-14 year old students interested in Science and Engineering education and careers.
The theme of this challenge was a developing a biomass powerplant for your School. The standard of entries was very high; the students showed great enthusiasm and developed some really innovative solutions.
One of the schools is actively considering implementing a biomass boiler system as a direct result of the students work. Chris commented ‘It was a real pleasure to be involved in this event and to meet the students and their teachers, and I would very much encourage engineering businesses to get involved with future EDT events. Events like this generate real interest among the students, and who knows, some of their enthusiasm and fresh thinking may even rub off on those of us who are a bit (a lot) older and somewhat more jaded.’
