Almond Engineering orders new Mazak

We are very excited to have ordered our first multitasking mill/turn machine. The machine – with a maximum machining diameter of 380mm, a turned length of 1.5m and full y axis milling capability – will enable us to be even more competitive on complex or multiface machined components.

Deans Community High School

Deans Community High School has a fantastic Design, Manufacture and Graphics programme, and over the last few years has even equipped an engineering workshop specifically for this purpose. After a recent meeting with Teacher David Dodds, Almond Engineering is delighted to be able to support the school, initially by supplying materials for the students to work with.

Almond Chairman, Chris Smith, commented that ‘as a Precision Engineering company with 34 years in Livingston and an active apprenticeship programme (we currently have 3 apprentices), we firmly believe that encouraging and teaching engineering is vital for our national future. Almond are very much looking forward to maintaining a long-term partnership with the School.’
